It’s hairy crab (大闸蟹) season. My first destination of hairy crab hunting was CWZJ Cuisine (The Home of Tea Kings / 茶王之家) at Kuchai Entrepreneur Park.
The restaurant is actually a tea shop selling seafood from tank (nice combination?).
茶王之家 and also 靓茶美食小官.
The shop is also a wholesaler of hairy crabs.
The ambiance is of course more like a tea house.

Hairy crab! It was a 5-tael female crab with much ovaries but smaller in size.
Look at the ovaries.
Hairy crab does not have much meat.
After meal ginger tea.
And some “sub” dishes.
1st victim in serial killing of hairy crabs. RIP.
Question: Why does male hairy crab have ovaries too? Help me to find the correct answer and I belanja hairy crabs lar…

let me take a wild guess here…
The males helps to carry the ovary (a.k.a roe) during the migration and it will help out in ensuring their sperm will get into the correct spots within the shorter distance as the roe will *virtually* within reach.
Males don’t actually produce roe but they get it from the females and help to carry them around
From what i know, the white creamy substance together with the roe is actually sperm.

I had just been there on 6/12/2008
Since d female crabs had all been sold out. I had ordered the male one. Not bad… taste great. Other than that, the sure bet dish for starter would be Canada Oyster!~ Damn fresh and the staffs there serves you like VIP.
Also not forget to order the Baby Lamb in House Sauce(Special Black Pepper Sauce). After I tasted it, Tony Roma, TGI Fridays, Hard Rock or the Ship also have to step aside~!!!
Exquisite taste and great service staffs.
